Carrickfergus Artist Exchange Program
The Sister Cities Committee and Community Arts Center are inviting artists of the area to step forward and tell them why they should be selected to complete a residency exchange in Ireland. Danville's sister city, Carrickfergus, will in turn send an artist it has chosen to spend time in Danville.
Milton Reigelman, chairman of the committee, said Danville is fast becoming a mecca for art, so the exchange is an appropriate one. Plus, due to the success of last year's Irish Celebration, the committee can now fund airfare for the artist.
The artist will stay in Carrickfergus, Danville's Sister City, anywhere from two weeks to a month.
The deadline to apply is March 1. A selection committee will review submissions and make the decision. Artists invited to participate by be creators of any type – including visual, music, movies and acting, for example.
