The Great American Red Wagon Contest!
Calling all creative families! The Community Arts Center and The Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County team to present the first annual Red Wagon Decorating Contest, held in conjunction with the Great American Brass Band Festival Main Street Parade, Saturday, June 14.
Wagon entries will be judged according to suggested themes and showcased during the parade. The event will end with an awards ceremony and post-parade celebration at the Community Arts Center
Contest Rules
- Wagons must be hand-pulled along the parade route. Children riding in the wagon (maximum of 2) must be securely seated in the wagon during the Main Street parade. Adult supervision is required.
- Standard four (4) wheel wagons only.
- Wagons, including all decoration, are limited in overall size to 48 inches long and 28 inches wide, (excluding the pull handle).
- All decorations must be attached securely.
- No live animals allowed.
- Failure to report for check-in prior to the Main Street parade (9 a.m. at Constitution Square State Park) will result in forfeiture of entry.
- In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, entry fees will be refunded.
- Pre-registration is required. Please return completed entry form, with a $5 entry fee, to the Community Arts Center. Entry deadline is Thursday, June 12.

- Best Use of the 2008 Great American Brass Band Festival Theme: "A Lincoln Portrait"
- "The Stars & Stripes Standout" for Most Patriotic Design
- "Best of the Brass Award" for Best Representation of the Brass Band Spirit
- "The WOW Wagon Award" - the best in show!
Contest Prize!
The winning "WOW Wagon" design for best in show receives a family night on the town, including a free limo ride from Premier Limousine, (4) movie passes to Danville Cinemas 8 and a Large Pizza from Papa Johns.
