SPACE... Imagine That!
It's here! Through February 26th!
Imagine a secluded area surrounding you with soaring spaceships, raging rivers, monster storms and even roaring dinosaurs … Experience educational entertainment at its best in this new, state-of-the-art theater – the Discovery Dome – on loan from the Huston Museum of Natural Science.
To satisfy art appetites, beautiful NASA photographs take visitors on a visual journey through years of lunar exploration and space shuttle development.
The Mars Rover simulator will allow visitors to drive a vehicle over the planet's surface from a control booth, just like the real technicians do!
"Galileo's Dangerous Truths," a dialogue-driven presentation, will delight kids of all ages with a fascinating look into Galileo's approaches to physics and astronomy, and how he became known as the Father of Modern Science.
Special addition to exhibit!
Former NASA astronaut of 30 years Story Musgrave will offer 30-minute multi-media presentation sessions throughout the afternoon of Feb. 17th to SPACE visitors. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the inspiration of a true innovator who led missions in space and now leads others with motivation.
Ray Gun Contest
Zap your way into the Community Arts Center's Ray Gun Design Contest. Inspired by the Art Center's SPACE…Imagine That! exhibit presented by Danville Pediatrics, we encourage you to design your own ray gun! We'll put the ray guns on display and let visitors pick the winners! The kids winner (12 and under) will receive our ray gun wall art display. The adult winner (13 and up) will receive our retro-fabulous Buck Roger's Atomic Pistol painting -- created specifically for this exhibit.
